Today I’m sharing a recent outfit of mine where I created a layered look using one of my floral dresses as a coat.
Happy New Week! I hope you had a lovely weekend and are feeling refreshed for the week ahead.
Here in the UK, it’s finally starting to feel like spring, and I’m really excited to embrace the season ahead. To begin the spring season, I wanted to share an outfit I’ve put together that perfectly captures the lighter, brighter vibe of this time of year.
Spring Layering Outfit – Wearing A Dress As A Coat
One of my favorite things about transitional spring fashion is the art of layering. The weather can be a bit unpredictable here, chilly in the morning and warmer by the afternoon, so layering is key to staying comfortable while still looking stylish. I’ve learned that it’s all about finding the right balance between warmth and lightness, especially when you’re transitioning from winter to summer clothing.
For today’s look, I started with a classic and casual combination, a pair of jeans and a bold red t-shirt. Red is one of my favorite colors recently, it’s vibrant, energetic, and always puts me in a good mood when I wear it.
Since it’s still a bit cold out, I wanted to add an extra layer that looked light and airy. That’s when I decided to grab one of my summer floral cotton dresses. The dress features a mix of soft florals in red and white, making it a perfect match to layer over the t-shirt, adding and dimension to the outfit. It added a softness to the look with the flowing sillouette.
To keep the look relaxed and comfy which is how I like to base most of my outfits, I paired it with my Converse Chuck 70 high tops. They’re my go to at the moment most days, and the neutral color goes with everything. I finished the look with my red bag to tie everything together and add a pop of color.
